Ireland: Two arrested after Dublin drug seizure

Two men have been arrested in Dublin after a drug seizure worth an estimated €950,000 this afternoon.

A joint intelligence led investigation by the Garda National Drugs Unit and Revenue's Customs Service culminated in a search at a house at Rathcoole, Co Dublin this afternoon.

Herbal Cannabis with an estimated street value of €900,000 was seized.

Two men, aged 49 and 34, were arrested and are being detained at Clondalkin Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

In a follow up search at the premises approximately 10,000 tablets suspected of being controlled drugs were also found. These will be subjected to forensic analysis.

The estimated total value of the seizure is €950,000. Investigations are continuing.
