UK: Police officer who grew cannabis in loft faces up to three years in jail
The Mirror Saturday 24 Mar 2012 A PC has been warned he faces jail after being caught growing cannabis. Dad-of-four David Price, 29, appeared in the dock with ex-girlfriend Emily Baylis, 26, yesterday. The Mirror revealed last year that the pair were arrested on suspicion of growing drugs in his loft. Prosecutor Michael Collins told a court covert video footage showed the policeman hanging up cannabis leaves to dry. And a police raid found 18 cannabis plants, hydroponic lights and specialist watering equipment. Price admitted growing cannabis and Baylis a charge involving its pro-uction. They could each be jailed for three years. The pair, of Keynsham, Somerset, were bailed by Bath magistrates to appear at Bristol crown court. Magistrate Robin Acton said: "These matters are too serious for us to sentence and carry a greater punishment than we can give." http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/police-officer-who-grew-cannabis-770471
