Czech: Prague march wants marihuana to be legal
Prague Daily Monitor Saturday 05 May 2012 Police spokeswoman Eva Kropacova said about 7000 people marched through Prague's centre and others joined a music event later on. The march was supported by the Green Party and the Czech Pirate Party. Robert Veverka, head of group that organises the march, said it is unacceptable that politicians and experts insist that cannabis imported or produced in licenced growers would be legal to use for medical treatment, but hemp grown in the garden of a patient or pensioner would continue to be an illegal and dangerous drug. Similar Million Marihuana Marches are held in other world cities across the world. Marihuana is probably the most widespread illegal drug in the Czech Republic. Opinion polls show that more than half of Czechs aged from 15 to 34 tried marihuana at least once. http://praguemonitor.com/2012/05/07/prague-march-wants-marihuana-be-legal
