Wales: Two men arrested in Parc Menai cannabis bust

TWO people have been arrested on suspicion of growing cannabis at disused tunnels in Bangor.

The men, aged in their 50s and 60s, were arrested this morning (Wednesday, May 9), and a substantial quantity of cannabis plants and cash were recovered at disused tunnels at Ty Golchi in Parc Menai.

A North Wales Police spokesman said the men were detained pending questioning, and that a officers would undertake a "comprehensive and methodical" search.

Detective Sergeant Jim Coy said: "This was an intelligence led operation and conducted as part of our on-going effort to tackle drug production and supply."

The men have since been released from custody and bailed to return to a local Police Station in mid June.
