Wales: Holywell man jailed for agreeing to set up cannabis farm at Trelogan property Mark Dowling Flintshire Chronicle Thursday 31 May 2012 Neil Hall, 40, of Sarn Road, had pleaded guilty to allowing a cannabis farm to be set up at a Trelogan house belonging to him in September 2010. Chester Crown Court heard on Friday although Hall had 'very little involvement' in the running of the cannabis farm, as that was overseen by two other men, he did have a hand in setting it up. Cheshire and North Wales Police had been monitoring the drugs gang, which had also set up a huge cocaine operation in Ellesmere Port, over a 16-month period. Two other men sentenced at Chester Crown Court, Andrew Knox, 40, of Camden Road, and Lee Jones, 31, of Spunhill Avenue, Ellesmere Port, did dealings in cocaine from their hometown base and cannabis via the Trelogan farm. In mitigation, the court heard Hall had not been in trouble for several years, and had only got interested in setting up the cannabis farm when he faced financial difficulties. Hall had got into debt after falling foul of a loan shark and was offered the chance to set up a cannabis farm at his property in order to repay the debt. Hall was sentenced by Judge David Hale to 30 months, giving him credit for pleading guilty at the earliest opportunity. A trial for other alleged drug gang members is to take place in October at Chester. http://www.flintshirechronicle.co.uk/flintshire-news/local-flintshire-news/2012/05/31/holywell-man-jailed-for-agreeing-to-set-up-cannabis-farm-at-trelogan-property-51352-31079799/
