UK: Jail term for growing drug
Somerset Guardian Thursday 31 May 2012 Michael Gorman, 53, was producing and supplying the drug directly and there was no evidence of a chain, Taunton Crown Court was told. Judge Graham Hume-Jones said he was "looking at a £19,000 profit and that can only be described as a substantial financial gain". Gorman also admitted having a shotgun without a licence and a stun gun but the judge said he could find no connection between that and the production of cannabis. The shotgun was a .410 – a type used for poaching – and the stun gun appeared to have been bought for the protection of his former wife when out jogging, he added. The starting point for sentencing was six years in prison but Gorman was given credit for his guilty plea, age, good character and remorse. http://www.thisissomerset.co.uk/Jail-term-growing-drug/story-16239903-detail/story.html
