UK: Two jailed after cannabis factory is discovered in south Staffordshire
StaffsLive Monday 11 Jun 2012 Around 100 cannabis plants – with a street value of almost £60,000 – were found when police raided a factory unit on Heathmill Enterprise Park in Heath Mill Road, Wombourne, in October 2009. At Stafford Crown Court on Friday 8 June Simon Evason, 33, of Bath Street, Sedgley, was jailed for 32 months at Stafford Crown Court on June 8, while Gary Wilson, 31, of Fir Street, Sedgley, was given a three year prison sentence. Both had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to produce cannabis. The cannabis factory was targeted as part of Operation Nemesis – Staffordshire Police's campaign against drug dealers – after a tip-off about suspicious smells coming from the unit. Inspector Donna Gibbs, South Staffordshire Local Policing Team Commander, said: "Members of the public can be re-assured that if they contact us with information about drug supply we will act promptly. "Operation Nemesis is continuing to bring drug dealers to justice across the county. These sentences send a clear message to people are thinking of producing or dealing drugs in Staffordshire – they will be caught and brought to justice." http://staffslive.co.uk/2012/06/11/two-jailed-after-cannabis-factory-is-discovered-in-south-staffordshire/
