Gibraltar: Local man jailed for drug offences

A 54-year old local man was jailed for seven months for drug offences.

Alan Gavito was convicted in the Magistrates' Court of possession with intent to supply 463 grams of cannabis resin.

Gavito had earlier pleaded guilty to the possession of the cannabis resin and a further possession of 55 grams of cannabis resin and 1.5 grams of MDMA, but had contested the intent to supply charge.

The arrest dates back to October 7, 2011, when drug squad officers raided Gavito's Gym at 6 Jumpers Bastion.
