UK: Caution for cannabis grower
The Echo Saturday 16 Jun 2012 Officers forced their way into a house in Oast Avenue, Rochford, where 11 cannabis plants were found growing in a bedroom. Rayleigh Insp Chris Higgins said: "My officers tried knocking on the door first. They couldn't get entry as no one answered the door, so they forced entry." The operation, by Rochford neighbourhood policing team, happened at about 5.45pm on Tuesday A 38-year-old woman was given a caution, and the cash was seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act. Insp Higgins stressed that although a caution had been given, this did not mean they were a soft touch. He said: "These sorts of offences will be dealt with in an appropriate manner. "If you've got someone who's converted a four-bedroom detached house to purely grow cannabis, they are not going to get a caution for it. It doesn't mean if you grow cannabis, you're going to get a caution." http://www.echo-news.co.uk/news/9766176.Caution_for_cannabis_grower/
