UK: Cannabis grower gets community order

THE following local cases were dealt with by magistrates sitting in Loughborough on June 27 and 29:

L Neil Gordon (36), of Greenslade, Melton, admitted producing 19 plant pots of cannabis in Melton on April 22. He was given a one-year community order including a requirement to do 150 hours’ unpaid work. Gordon was also ordered to pay £85 costs. Magistrates ordered for the cannabis plants to be forfeited and destroyed.

l David Rowland (69), of Syston Road, Queniborough, admitted driving with excess alcohol in Warwick Way, Loughborough, on May 25. He was found to have 101mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg. Rowland was banned from driving for 24 months which may be reduced by six months if he completes an approved driving course. He was also fined £600, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

L Terrance Cooper (28), of Rudbeck Avenue, Melton, was found guilty of assaulting a man in Wilton Road, Melton, on December 3. He was ordered to pay £50 to the victim.

L Andrew Morrison (51), of Blenheim Walk, Melton, admitted wilfully obstructing a police constable in the execution of his duty in Melton on October 3. He was fined £50, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £100 costs.

L Darren Holton (42), of Lutterworth, was found guilty in his absence of speeding on the A607 Norman Way in Melton on January 10. He was recorded at 36mph. The limit is 30mph. He was fined £140, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs. His licence was also endorsed with three penalty points.

L Mopelola Salami (44), of Essex, was found guilty in her absence of speeding on the A46 at Thrussington on January 8. She was recorded at 90mph. The limit is 70mph. She was fined £140, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Her licence was also endorsed with three penalty points.

L Alan Ward (48), of Metheringham, Lincolnshire, admitted speeding on the A46 at Thrussington on January 7. He was recorded at 96mph. The limit is 70mph. He was fined £160, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £60 costs. His licence was also endorsed with five penalty points.

L Harriet Worthington (42), of Colston Bassett, admitted speeding on the A46 at Thrussington on January 2. She was recorded at 87mph. The limit is 70mph. She was fined £140, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £60 costs. Her licence was also endorsed with three penalty points.
