US: St. Johns sheriff's deputies bust pot house

St. Johns County Sheriff's Office detectives arrested a man and seized 133 marijuana plants being grown clandestinely inside his home early Wednesday.

Matthew Aaron Lanier, 35, of the 1100 block of Ardmore Street was arrested on charges of possessing more than 20 grams of cannabis with intent to sell, cultivation of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, the Sheriff's Office said.

Lanier later was released on $10,500 bail.

Detectives were tipped to the home and found the plants in various stages of growth, several pre-packaged bags of marijuana and several items of drug paraphrenalia, the Sheriff's Office said. All of the substances tested positive for cannabis, Kelshaw said.
