POLICE seized a £100,000 crop of cannabis plants during a swoop on a cottage beside one of the north's busiest roads.

A team of Northern Constabulary officers raided the property next to the A96 between Nairn and Inverness and found the classB drug being grown on a "commercial scale".

Forensic teams wearing white overalls and face masks removed dozens of plants from the house next to the Highland Food Stop restaurant and takeaway.
