UK: Cannabis plants worth up to £20,000 seized in Totnes raids

TWO people have been released on police bail after police discovered a large amount of cannabis in production at a Totnes home.

A police spokesman said officers executed a warrant at a flat in the Bridgetown area of the town last Friday.

They seized around 60 cannabis plants in various stages of growth – some as tall as three to four feet high.

Officers estimate the plants, once harvested, would have a street value of around £15,000 to £20,000.

As well as the plants, other items – from cannabis being dried to that being turned into resin – were also seized.

Growing equipment was seized from the flat as well as more than £2,000 in cash.

The spokesman said a 26-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman had been taken into police custody on suspicion of production of cannabis.

They were released later on that evening and are required to re-attend Torquay Police Station on October 11 to answer bail.
