UK: Dewsbury man in court accused of producing almost £10k of cannabis
Huddersfield Daily Examiner Thursday 26 Jul 2012 Wayne Longley, 48, was before Kirklees magistrates yesterday. He is accused of producing the Class B drug at a property in Dewsbury between August 1 and November 25. James Gelsthorpe, prosecuting, said that police executed a search warrant at the address. There he said they found two rooms with the plants and sophisticated hydroponics equipment. The prosecutor told magistrates that the estimated street value of the drugs was £9,428. Longley, of Latham Lane in Cleckheaton, is also accused of possession of the drug with intent to supply. He faces further allegations of dishonestly using electricity and stealing four wheeled bins belonging to Leeds City Council. Longley gave no indication as to what his plea to the charges will be. Magistrates committed him to stand trial at Leeds Crown Court on August 22.
