U.S. Attorney: Boulder included in latest round of marijuana dispensary shut-down letters Mitchell Byars, Camera Staff Writer Colorado Daily Friday 03 Aug 2012 U.S. Attorney John Walsh today sent out letters to 10 more Colorado marijuana dispensaries located within 1,000 feet of schools, ordering them to close their businesses or move -- the third such wave of letters issued by his office. At least one of the 10 dispensaries is in Boulder County, according to Jeff Dorschner, a spokesman with the U.S. Attorney's Office. Dorschner said he could not disclose the names of the stores or the number of Boulder County dispensaries that were sent letters in this latest round. The letter notifies the dispensaries that because they are operating within 1,000 feet of a school, they will be required to move or close their business by Sept. 17 or face criminal prosecution. The U.S. Attorney's Office first sent out 23 letters to Colorado dispensaries in January and another 25 in April. Three Boulder dispensaries -- Fresh Republic, 1335 Broadway, the Hill Cannabis Club, 1121 Broadway, and The Med Shed, 4483 N. Broadway -- closed after the second wave of letters.
