POLICE have arrested a 46-year-old woman on suspicion of possessing thousands of pounds worth of cannabis resin with intent to supply.

Acting on intelligence, they executed a warrant at a house in Trooper's Hill Road, St George, on Thursday.

During the search officers discovered in a fridge what they believe is between 2kg and 2.5kg of the class B drug.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and was being questioned late last week.

The joint operation involved Avon and Somerset police's intelligence team, serious crime group and the UK Border Agency.
