UK: Worthing man sentenced for drug possession
Worthing Herald Wednesday 08 Aug 2012 Joshua Hansell, 23, of Offington Lane, Worthing, was at an address in Lancing which was raided by police in February last year, where more than 390g of bagged drugs with a value of nearly £4,000 were seized. Defence solicitor Mark Rogers told Worthing Magistrates’ Court that Hansell had worked hard to overcome his cannabis habit. He argued it was not the defendant’s intention to commercially sell the cannabis found at the property, rather it was for personal use. Magistrate Peter Levett warned Hansell he had been given a second chance for what could have been an imprisonable offence. He said: “You are fortunate that you have come before the court having done something off your own back to sort out your problem. You are no longer keeping the company you were at the time of the offence which has perhaps helped.” Hansell was sentenced to a 12-month community order of 100 hours unpaid work and was ordered to pay an additional £200 fine. http://www.worthingherald.co.uk/news/local/worthing-man-sentenced-for-drug-possession-1-4140865
