US: 2 arrested in Belvidere on drug charges

BELVIDERE (WREX) -

A teenage girl and a 45-year-old man have been arrested on drug charges after four-month investigation by the Belvidere Police Narcotic Unit.

Police executed a search warrant at an apartment located in the 200 block of North State Street on Thursday morning. During the search, police seized cannabis, cannabis plants, drug paraphernalia, drug packaging materials, and electronic scales.

Eighteen-year-old Whitney Dikancic and 45-year-old Frank Polinder were both arrested. They face the following charges:

Whitney Dikancic
3 counts of unlawful delivery of cannabis

Frank Polinder
Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia

Both are in custody in the Boone County Jail. Dikancic is being held on $10,000 bond and Polinder is being held on a $1,500 bond.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
