UK: Four people are rebailed in drugs investigation

Plymouth Herald

Monday 20 Aug 2012

FOUR people have been rebailed until October after suspected cocaine and cannabis was discovered by police.

Officers were called to the Premier Inn hotel at Marsh Mills on the morning of April 28 by a member of the public who said they smelled cannabis.

On arrival police found two men and two women – all from Plymouth – in one of the hotel's rooms along with a small quantity of suspected cannabis and cash.

Further inquiries led officers to search a number of addresses in the city, including a property in the Pennycomequick area. Inside officers discovered around 400 grammes of white powder, which has been sent for analysis.

Police said if it is determined as cocaine, it could have a street value of around £16,000.

The 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug with intent to supply, the 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug and suspicion of money laundering. The 24-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A and class B drug with intent to supply and the 25-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A and B drug. All four answered their bail yesterday and were rebailed until October 9 pending further inquiries.
