UK: Six jailed after drug conspiracy James Franklin Weston, Worle and Somerset Mercury 24 Wednesday 22 Aug 2012 The men were sentenced at Bristol Crown Court for their part in a drugs conspiracy operating in Weston and Bristol. Officers from Avon and Somerset Constabulary's conducted three raids on homes in the region. A total of £15,000 worth of cannabis was seized from one houses in Bristol, while 92 cannabis plants and scales contaminated in two separate roads on a house in Mendip Road, Weston, and a property in Brislington. On Tuesday, 52-year-old Paul Guest was sentenced to two years and eight months’ imprisonment while his son, 24-year-old Toby Guest, was jailed for four years and 10 months for conspiracy to cultivate cannabis and two counts of possessing cocaine with intent to supply. Howard Blake, aged 42, received two years and seven months, Christian Davies, aged 33, two years and two months, Anthony Byfield, aged 30, received four years and six months and Jack Taylor, aged 18, was given a one-year rehabilitation order with 110 hours of unpaid work and probation supervision. Benzocaine, commonly used as a cutting agent for cocaine and destined for the property in Bristol, was also seized by officers in Northamptonshire, while Toby Guest was stopped by police with nine bags of cocaine and cash. Detective Sergeant Jonathan Deane said: "Drugs and associated crime can have a devastating effect on our communities and people's lives and will not be tolerated.
