A WOMAN has been arrested after police found around £45,000 worth of suspected skunk cannabis at a Saltash address.

Officers spoke to the 45-year-old woman from Saltash as she sat in a silver Peugeot car in Manor Street, Stonehouse, just a few minutes after midnight on Sunday. The officers became suspicious after they found her to be in possession of three mobile phones and several hundred pounds in cash.

A search of a property in Saltash a short while later uncovered nine half-kilo vacuum-packed bags of suspected skunk cannabis.

The cannabis has been sent for further analysis but police say if it is confirmed as the class B drug it could have a street value of around £45,000.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled class B drug and taken to Charles Cross police station.

Following interview she was released on police bail until December 18 pending further inquiries.
