Netherlands: A Win for the Dutch coffeeshop's (in Haarlem , North Holland)
The Weedcity Times Sunday 23 Sep 2012 The system which will be jointly run by shop owners and the city council , it will involve joint responsibility with intentions such as resolving any disorder around the shop and also making it harder for minors to obtain produce from the shop. "The Weedpass, meant to be introduced in Haarlem next year, does not seem to have the intended effect. That is why a good alternative had to be found. I am pleased that the Haarlem coffeeshopowners want to take the responsibility for the new Hallmark together with us. By doing this, we will make the system funtion even better", according to the Mayor of Haarlem, who had some major collissions with the local coffeeshopentrepreneurs in the past. Entrepreneurs making a mistake, for example by having to much cannabis in stock, were severly punished by the Mayor. With this system in place there is some light at the end of the tunnel for non-nationals who frequent the city and would like the ability to buy there cannabis with out discrimination on the basis of nationality. And all this because of the hard efforts and good work being done by THC (Team haarlemse coffeeshops) and there use of politics and making there voice herd and understood. It shows there is hope in sight for the Dutch liberal system yet! http://times.weed-city.net/business/a-win-for-dutch-shops/
