Cannabis is the most popular illegal drug in Cyprus, said in a press conference the Head of the National Centre for Documentation and Information on Drugs Neoclis Georgiades.

However Georgiades noted that it is positive, that according to a recent research there is a dramatic increase in requests for treatment for cannabis and a reduction in the use of the drug in the general population.

At the same time he said that there is an increase in the over - consumption of alcohol among young people aged 15 -16 years, namely six or more drinks each time.
