Ireland: Luke 'Ming' Flanagan stands by corruption claim Fionnan Sheahan Irish Independent Monday 04 Feb 2013 And the cannabis legalisation campaigner has also admitted he has taken cocaine, acid and ecstasy. Coming at the same time as the funeral of Det Gda Adrian Donohoe, Mr Flanagan was forced to backtrack last week when he claimed the gardai were a "corrupt police force". Mr Flanagan said that he stuck by "the substantive issue" of corruption in the gardai. "It was the wrong time to do it (criticise the gardai), and I've admitted that," he said. Mr Flanagan claimed he had been contacted by "former and current" gardai who agreed with his claim but this didn't mean "all guards are corrupt". After revealing he had taken cocaine, acid and ecstasy, he also claimed other members of the Dail had taken drugs. "It would be highly unlikely if they hadn't," he told RTE Radio. He said he does not use illegal drugs any more. "I'm quite aware that drugs are illegal and I wouldn't be campaigning on this issue if I didn't know it in the first place," he said. http://www.independent.ie/national-news/luke-ming-flanagan-stands-by-corruption-claim-3376193.html
