Canada - New Zealand Joint Operation Arrests 11 Vietnamese Over Drug Deal

View Full Image New Zealand Police Several cannabis growing houses in New Zealand were shut down The 11 Vietnamese nationals were arrested on the charges of cultivating cannabis in the city of Auckland and several cannabis growing houses were shut down in the city, according to the New Zealand police. The joint operation force started investigating after Canadian authorities last December seized two separate shipments of methamphetamine worth around NZ $ 7 million. The joint operation which consisted of Financial Crime Agency of New Zealand, New Zealand Customs, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police seized more than 600 fully developed cannabis plants. Following the arrest of the drug dealers, new search warrants were issued in Auckland and Vancouver as well. "The Police, and all of the agencies involved, deserve praise for their hard work and dedication in targeting and taking action against this drug syndicate," said Tolley in a statement. "The vigilance of our two countries has made our streets safer - - there is no place in our communities for drugs," said Anne Tolley. "Criminals should be warned that the police, with the help of international cooperation, are intent on smashing the supply and distribution of drugs." Vietnamese government is yet to make a comment on the arrest of its people in New Zealand.
