Gibraltar: Attempted drug passing to prisoner results in six months imprisonment

Daniel Young, 19, was sentenced to six months imprisonment for possession of 8.77 grams of Cannabis resin and possession with intent to supply of 2.6 grams of Cannabis resin, in the Magistrates Court on Wednesday. Mr Young, of 8/10 Booth’s Passage, received no separate penalty on a further count of possession with intent to supply of a class ‘C’ drug, 20 x 2mg tablets of Alprazolam.

The case dates to January of 2012 when Mr Young was detected attempting to pass the drugs, within the precinct of the Magistrates Court, to a prisoner on remand following a court appearance.
