Argentina: Thousands march for legal use of marihuana
Buenas Aires Herald Saturday 04 May 2013 “Cannabis must be regulated on the base of respect of human rights and freedom, we don’t want to be sentenced for cultivating it,” says Martín Armada, THC journal editor which is devoted to cannabis culture. Despite the Supreme Court ruled in 2009 “it is unconstitutional to penalize for personal consumption, in practice, marihuana consumers and cultivators are still sentenced,” says Armada. “2010 statistics brings out 12,000 suit cases annually, where 8,000 are the users,” Armada assures. Youth activists call on the modification of the drugs’ law and recognition of therapeutic and industrial use of cannabis. Additionally, they asked to “respect personal freedom of people guaranteed by the Law 19 of the Constitution.” http://www.buenosairesherald.com/article/130298/thousands-march-for-legal-use-of-marihuana-
