Malta: Gozo man taken to court for cultivating cannabis

Accused of cultivating cannabis in an abandoned Sannat residence.

A 28-year-old man was today brought in front of Magistrate Paul Coppini at the Gozo Court.

Shaun George Vella, of Sannat, is accused of cultivating cannabis in an abandoned residence in Triq ix-Xabbata, Sannat, on 25 and 26 June, and the previous weeks.

He was found in possession of the drug and evidence indicates it was not for his personal use.

The accused pleaded not guilty to these charges and was released on the condition that he must sign into Rabat police station every day, be home in the evenings and deposit €500. He is bound by a personal guarantee of €3,000
