Malta: Probation over cannabis possession

A 19-year-old Marsalforn resident was today placed under probation for three years after he admitted to the simple possession of cannabis resin, as well as to breaching bail conditions.

Nigel Dingli was arraigned under arrest at the Gozo Court after being caught in possession of small amounts of cannabis in his hometown yesterday.

He had been granted bail earlier this year, after being charged with the aggravated possession of cannabis, a charge he pleaded not guilty to.

Inspector Frank Tabone prosecuted.
