UK: Letter: Cannabis Can be Beneficial

On page 11 on July 13, you published a letter from Dr Christine Wall about the staggering cost of drugs to the NHS.

Overleaf on page 13 you printed an article headed "Cannabis based drug has given me back my life" from Multiple Sclerosis sufferer Teresa Pointer.

The juxtaposition between the problems expressed by Dr Wall and the solution described by Teresa Pointer is the most serendipitous layout I've seen in the Norwich Evening News, coming as it does on two sides of the same page.

Of course, if Ms Pointer had been using herbal cannabis she would have been criminalised for using a benign herb to alleviate her symptoms. In a recent radio interview Howard Marks, described the law against cannabis as "evil, sinister and wrong"" I like many other people am in complete agreement with him.
