Exercise can lead to positive drug tests
The Conversation Thursday 12 Sep 2013 Research from the University of Sydney shows the active ingredient in cannabis – tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) – can lie dormant in fat cells for months, before being re-released into the bloodstream once exercise burns contaminated fat cells. Researchers indicate this could have huge medico-legal implications, as subjects could test positive to cannabis use despite having no recent contact. Further studies will explore whether other factors of weight loss, including stress and dieting, can produce the same results. Researchers are also exploring whether the THC re-released into the blood stream is enough to impair the subject. http://theconversation.com/exercise-can-lead-to-positive-drug-tests-18198
