UK: 'What victim?' asks cannabis user fined by Cambridge magistrates

A man who stuffed a carrier bag of cannabis down his trousers when stopped by police in Cambridge has been sentenced.

Hedley Leek, 42, was fined £100 for having 25g of the class B drug on May 5, 2012.

Magistrates also told himto pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Leek interrupted chairman of the bench Dr Christine Shaw as she sentenced him to ask her “what victim?”.

Leek, who has 30 previous offences recorded against him including 21 for drugs, told the court he has changed his lifestyle after moving from Cambridge to Bournemouth.
