US: Cannabis Oil Bill Signed into Law by Gov. Walker

“This is a monumental gain for Wisconsin.” Said Jennifer.

…Standing beside Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker as he signed a bill legalizing cannabis oil as a treatment for seizures.

“Ya I signed it. I wouldn't sign it if i didn't think it was a good idea." said Governor Walker.

Not just a good idea, but something Jennifer says may end up saving Meghan’s life.

“We have seizures that don’t stop. In fact that happened to us last week, the day of prom. We had to give medication that makes you so sick, but you have to do it otherwise the seizures don’t stop.” Jennifer said.

The Bertram’s aren't alone in Wisconsin, and lawmakers say this law will eventually make a difference, but not right away.

"They have to work through now what we're setting up in statute. It's not like you can start tomorrow collecting the CBD oil." said State Senator Paul Farrow (R-Pewaukee)

And Jennifer is already well on her way to getting the ball rolling, and trying to let everyone know what this treatment could do.

“The next step is going to be really interesting, we have to get doctors to prescribe it.” she said.

Jennifer says she hopes to have the cannabis oil for her daughter Meghan by October.
