UK Letter: Cannabis is medicinal Judith Wilson The Argus Tuesday 01 Jul 2014 I have been writing about this for years and have recently been in contact with my local MP, Peter Bottomley, trying to persuade him to look into the matter further on behalf of the 100,000 MS sufferers in this country, my elder son being one of them. In my opinion he has shown remarkably little interest in involving himself and has stated that he finds himself more and more out of his comfort zone in discussing this incredibly important topic. I congratulate Caroline Lucas for her foresight. The USA are streets ahead of us in researching the beneficial aspects of this drug and in producing a strain that is high in the pain-relieving element and low in the high-inducing element in order to alleviate the chronic pain endured on a daily basis by those with MS and other debilitating diseases/conditions. It is high time (no pun intended!) that a sensible approach was taken and Government ministers and authorities such as the police realised that disabled are needlessly suffer. All they want is the chance to live a more normal life like everyone else and possibly live a life free of pain for the first time in years. As already stated by Clark French, cannabis DOES work and the only criminal thing about it is that those who need it for medicinal purposes are being denied it.
