UK: Brighton MP backs use of cannabis as a medicine

Brighton MP Caroline Lucas is supporting a group who are in favour of using cannabis for medicinal purposes.

She will hear evidence from the United Patients Alliance into why the drug can be of benefit to those with health issues.

She will also speak alongside Professor David Nutt, who has campaigned for Dutch style cannabis cafes. He thinks if they were introduced, it would lower the nation's alcohol problem.

Guest speakers and medical cannabis patients will also talk at the event on how the drug has improved their quality of life.
