Australia: Have you ever driven stoned? A surprising number said yes
Northern Star Tuesday 19 Aug 2014 THE jury might still be out on how cannabis affects driving, but that hasn't stopped people declaring they had driven high in an online poll by The Northern Star. In a story published online on August 11, The Star posted a poll asking whether respondents had driven while high. The poll, showed 78% of respondents had driven under the influence of the illicit drug. The poll's small sample size and method of involvement mean the results cannot be taken as a true picture of the community. Richmond LAC crime manager Detective Inspector Cameron Lindsay said people driving high risked being arrested and charged. He warned that driving while under the influence could have tragic consequences and reminded drivers that the Northern Rivers had one of the highest road tolls in the state. Reader poll Have you ever driven under the influence of cannabis? This poll ended on 12 August 2014. Yes - 78% No - 21% This is not a scientific poll.
