UK: Drug growers crackdown

POLICE have launched a crackdown on illegal cannabis growers in south Nottinghamshire.

Landlords have been asked to be alert to the fact that privately rented properties are being targeted for the cultivation of cannabis.

Signs to look for include strong sickly smells, high levels of condensation, lots of power cables, high reduction or increase in electricity usage and unsociable comings and goings.

The police are planning a media campaign later this month followed by a crackdown on the growers.
