An MP and former drugs minister will talk at a campaign group’s event on medicinal cannabis.

Norman Baker, MP for Lewes, will be discussing the benefits of medicinal cannabis at a United Patients Alliance meeting on Friday, December 12.

The meeting at Linklater Pavillion in Lewes will focus on evidence-based facts and will feature first-hand stories from patients who are urging government to “take medicinal cannabis seriously”.

Clark French, MS patient and UPA spokesman, said: “Cannabinoids have been proven to be effective for many aliments and conditions. Millions of people in the UK could benefit from cannabis' therapeutic potential. Patients that seek relief should not be criminalised, stigmatised and fur ther marginalised.”

Other speakers on the night include cancer, epilepsy and alcoholism patients who have found relief from medicinal cannabis. Doors open from 7pm.
