UK: Anti-cop posters have been springing up following London2NYC protests

"We've pointlessly targeted cannabis users in Lewisham, while other people legally drink their drugs... Enforcing Westminster’s crime concerns in Lewisham

Protests have been happening across the US calling for an end to police brutality and officers racially profiling African American citizens. Showing solidarity across the Atlantic, demonstrations have spread London, most notably in a Westfield shopping centre in West London where 76 people were arrested at the "Die In" (Check out #LondontoNYC on Twitter).

Perhaps not so coincidentally, a number of anti-police posters have been springing up in bus stop ad spaces accusing the Met of racial profiling, targeting cannabis users, and starting the 2011 UK riots. One poster even made it right out the front of New Scotland Yard headquarters (See above). The posters are written from the point of view of the Metropolitan Police, stamped with "City of Racist Police", and feature the logos of the Met and New Scotland Yard.

Anarchist publication Strike! Magazine created the posters, making them available for download and tweeting detailed instructions on how to access bus stop advertisements, but have said they did not themselves put up the posters.

"We caused the 2011 riots by shooting dead an unarmed civilian and then lying about it. And we got away with it... How can it be a lawful killing if he didn’t have a gun? #Duggan"

"You're 28 times more likely to stopped and searched in London if you don't have white skin, because we're still really racist... The only workplace still tolerating racism in 2014 #ACAB"

Strike! Magazine have also plastered the Tube with anti-consumerism posters in place of advertisements, saying "Infiltrate the stores, give away the toys".
