A one-time SDLP council election candidate, and former aide to West Tyrone MLA Joe Byrne, Barry Brown will stand under the Cannabis is Safer than Alcohol ticket.

The party are campaigning for a Royal Commission, effectively a major ad-hoc public inquiry, to review the UK’s laws on cannabis.

Claims tax raised from the legalisation of cannabis could contribute £900m to the British Exchequer.
