US: Cannabis march makes its way downtown

From Portland to Tokyo advocated of the legalization of marijuana made their voices heard today.

In Peoria advocates met at the courthouse today and then marched to city hall.

The organizer of today's march says the benefits of legalization would outweigh the negatives.

"We just want our elected officials to know that this is the will of the people they represent And we want marijuana policy reform to move forward," said advocate Sam Michaelson.

The event today was put on by the Illinois Chapter of NORML or the National Organization to Reform Marijuana Laws.
