Thursday 07 May 2015

In the least surprising news ever, a candidate for a pro-Cannabis party was reportedly quizzed about having cannabis on him

Reports have been emerging on Twitter that Jamie Barnes, the Thurrock candidate for pro-Cannabis party CISTA has been spoken to by police over possession of cannabis. Initial reports claimed he'd actually been arrested.

The reports did not come as a surprise to some people on Twitter.

CISTA, the Cannabis Is Safer That Alcohol party, are campaigning for a review of the UK's drug laws. Barnes is not expected to do well in his attempt to become the MP for Thurrock.

We've contacted the CISTA press office for a statement and are awaiting reply.
