UK: Cannabis not a priority for Derbyshire police

Derbyshire’s police and crime commissioner, Alan Charles, has said minor cannabis users are not a ‘priority’ for the force.

He said austerity cuts to police budgets had forced the county’s police force to reassess its priorities.

“If people are using cannabis discreetly in their own homes, in private, I would not expect the chief to make that a priority,” he added.
