Kashmir: Man held with 700 gms of Cannabis

A man was arrested for allegedly possessing 700 grams of cannabis here today, a police officer said.
Following a tip-off, police set up a surprise checkpoint along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and intercepted a vehicle that was on its way to Jammu from Srinagar, the officer said.
During the search of the vehicle, three packets containing a total of 700 grams of cannabis was recovered.
The driver of the car identified as Pawan Kumar, a resident of Reasi district, was arrested on the spot, he added.
A case under various sections of NDPS Act was registered against the accused, he said, adding that a probe in the case has been initiated.
