Brazilians Demand The Legalization Of Cannabis.Federal States Will do

Brazilian police say about 2,000 people have gathered in downtown Sao Paulo in a demonstration demanding the legalization of the production and sale of marijuana in Latin America’s largest country.

Several of the demonstrators were smoking marijuana cigarettes while carrying posters reading “Legalize Marijuana Now,” and “Marijuana is Medicine.”

Police say the demonstration was peaceful. No arrests have been reported.

The question is, is legalization the right move when it comes to cannabis? Most people don’t realize that the cost and taxation that goes along with legalization is insanely huge and much of the time growers must get their seeds from government sources which in North America especially is very low quality, not close to source cannabis. THC levels have been raised but medicinal qualities in other cannabinoid profiles have been altered. The cannabis is GMO’d or altered to get people high vs treat them for illnesses, something the plant is clearly more useful for.

Have your say, should it be legalized? Or should we just outright be able to do whatever we want with the plant? To me, doing whatever we wish is the only option worth exploring.
