UK: London high! Pranksters rent out pod on the London Eye to 'smoke cannabis' in front of bemused tourists

The stunt was part of a video in which they filmed each other smoking and dancing to celebrate April 20 - when people gather to smoke cannabis

A GROUP of web pranksters rented out a booth in the London Eye - to smoke 'CANNABIS.'

Hooligans from web comedy troop Trollstation released a clip yesterday of them smoking suspicious-looking cigarettes to 'hotbox' inside the attraction as surprised tourists looked on.

The jokers got on the Eye at 4.20pm on Tuesday accompanied by rapper, Black the Ripper, to create a music video where they filmed one another smoking and dancing inside the capsule.

The video was posted by Trollstation, a YouTube account with more than 700,000 subscribers, to celebrate '4/20', referring to the date April 20, a day where people gather to celebrate and consume cannabis.

Tourists were asked in a neighbouring pod: "Would you smoke a doobie if you were in there?"

One woman responded: "Yes."

Trollstation posted the video, which has already been viewed tens of thousands of times, along with the statement: "As its 4/20 its only right we hotbox the London Eye alongside Dank Of England. #LegaliseTheHerb"

They added: "We made the video on Tuesday so we could put it out for 4:20.

Black the Ripper said on Twitter on Tuesday: "Getting high on the London Eye. Hotboxing this b****."

Hotboxing is the practice of smoking in an enclosed space in order to maximise the effect.

Footage from the London Eye also features in a new song released by the rapper yesterday called Light Up Everywhere.

A cameraman from the prank TV channel was recently jailed for nine months in March after a joke backfired and he was convicted of terrifying people with bomb hoaxes and mock robberies.

Danh Van Le, 31, was filming a 15-year-old accomplice who was approaching strangers and revealing a clock inside a briefcase.

The clock stunt was filmed in September as an homage to Ahmed Mohamed, 14, who was arrested after his home-made clock was mistaken for a bomb by his American school.

The Met Police are aware of the incident but are not yet investigating.

London Eye have been approached for a comment.
