Scotland: Pro-cannabis event set to take place in Glasgow Green later this year

This year's event, on Thursday, April 20, begins at 10am and is expected to last until later that night.

Hundreds of people are expected to attend a pro-cannabis event in Glasgow later this year.

Organisers of Hempstock 2017, which will be held at Glasgow Green, believe it will be the largest gathering of its kind to take place in the city.

They reckon popularity for such an event has grown because there has been a "shift in awareness and understanding of the therapeutic potential of cannabis."

Hundreds of people came together for the 420 Cannabis Celebrations in George Square last year.
