Iceland: Pirate Party wants to legalise cannabis for medical use

The MP's for the Pirate Party put forward a proposal yesterday to the Minister of Health to allow the use and production of cannabis (medicinal hemp oil) for medicinal use in Iceland.

They propose that Iceland look to the experience of countires that have already legalised cannabis for this purpose and to place new laws on the use, growth and production of medicinal hemp.

Among the countries that allow the use of medicinal cannabis are Austria, Belgium, Canada, Greece, Finland, Italy, Israel, Spain and some parts of Australia and the USA.
