India: Facebook Selfie With Marijuana Plant Lands Chennai Men in Jail
India.com Monday 05 Feb 2018 According to the police, Kamal was growing the banned plants on his terrace. His friend Sasikumar took his picture and posted it on social media despite Kamal’s warning against doing so. The photo went viral soon after it was shared on social media and many wanted to know the location of the ‘ganja garden’ in the city. Marijuana, or cannabis, has been classified as an illegal drug by the central government in 1985 under National Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. It is usually smoked, sometimes rolled into a cigar, but more often in loosely-rolled cigarettes or ‘joints’. But despite the ban, cannabis is a common drug and easily available in the black market. http://www.india.com/news/india/chennai-two-men-arrested-after-posting-selfie-with-cannabis-on-facebook-2878709/
