UK: Newport MP Paul Flynn's medicinal cannabis bill pushed back - again

A BILL allowing cannabis to be used for medical use in the UK championed by Newport West MP Paul Flynn has been put on the backburner - again.

The Labour MP's Private Member's Bill was due to be debated in Parliament today. But it was pushed back until Friday, October 26, after MPs objected to it being debated.

This is the second time the bill has been pushed back. It was due to be debated in Parliament in February, but time ran out before it was reached.

The Labour MP has long campaigned for cannabis-based medication to be available for people with conditions such as multiple sclerosis, epilepsy or cancer.
